CRUISE PLANNERS AGENT READY TO TACKLE WINTER CRUISE SEASON - Helen Brahms attends Cruise Planners’ 2010 Annual Convention

Los Angeles, CA – November 16, 2010 –  Helen Brahms was one of 400 home-based travel agents in attendance at the 2010 Cruise Planners/American Express Convention held at the Westin Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, November 10-13. For three days, Brahms, a Cruise Planners franchise owner based in Los Angeles, participated in daily training sessions, professional development workshops and panel discussions with industry professionals and top cruise line executives to gain insight into the coming travel season.

Cruise Planners, the nation's largest home-based travel agent franchise network in the cruise industry, hosted the annual convention to prepare their agents to better serve clients by announcing new reservations management and marketing tools, releasing exclusive Cruise Planners consumer products to make traveling abroad easier and more convenient, and bringing travel industry experts in to give agents news and information regarding new ships and itineraries, tour packages and hot new destinations to watch for.

“Helen Brahms’ participation in our convention is critical for cruise lovers in Los Angeles Area,” Michelle Fee, CEO and co-founder of Cruise Planners/American Express. “A Cruise Planners agent is a resource for cruises and our convention allows agents to be equipped for any request. The industry is thriving and with cruise lines releasing more than 20 new ships this year, it is the job of the Cruise Planners agent to help customers find the right cruise experience to fit their needs and demands.”

Notable highlights during the 2010 Cruise Planners Convention were the agent-to-agent and executive team workshops as well as the panel discussion with top cruise line executives including Vicki Freed of Royal Caribbean International, Lynn Torrent with Carnival Cruise Lines, Camille Olivere with Norwegian Cruise Line and Dondra Ritzenthaler with Celebrity Cruises, among others. The convention concluded aboard the new Celebrity Eclipse where Brahms was one of a select group to experience the ship’s first U.S. voyage, sailing from Miami, Florida.

“Cruise occupancy is up more than 100 percent, which is evidence that people are vacationing again and cruising is a top choice,” said Brahms. “I am eager to be back in my home office to use the information I gained to give new and existing customers a memorable vacation experience. Travel is my passion and I love being able to create unique itineraries and packages for my customers.”
